Non-Muslim expats in the UAE generally choose between two registries: the DIFC Wills Service Centre and the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD). Both are valid; the right choice depends on where your assets sit and how you want enforcement handled.
Coverage
DIFC wills cover assets across all seven Emirates. ADJD wills also cover UAE-wide assets and are recognised by Abu Dhabi courts directly.
Cost and process
ADJD registration tends to be lower cost and can be completed remotely. DIFC offers in-person and virtual registration and is well established for complex international estates.
Choosing between them
If your wealth is primarily real estate in Dubai or you have international beneficiaries, DIFC is a strong default. If cost-efficiency and Abu Dhabi enforcement matter most, ADJD often wins.
